With a haunting text by Christina Rossetti, Dream Land tells the story of a young lady who is considering what is next in life.  The rhythmic accompaniment accentuates and supports the vocal line and care has been taken to create layers in the voice leading. A harmonic and mood change takes place midway through the piece as the text discusses a "perfect rest." The opening theme is reintroduced and the piece closes a solemn “perfect rest.”
